Outlook .OST Error

If you are getting the error “Outlook is using an old copy of your Outlook data file (.ost). like the image below, please follow the steps to resolve the issue.


  1. Click “OK” to close the window and make sire outlook is closed.
  2. Click the Start Menu and type “Control Panel” and click the “Enter” key
  3. Change the view to “Large icons” on the window by clicking the drop down menu in the upper right corner
  4. Double click on “Mail (Microsoft Outlook)
  5. Select “Show Profiles”
  6. Select "Remove” then “Yes”


  7. Click “Apply”
  8. Click “OK”
  9. Open Outlook
  10. Type “Outlook” in the box then OK (Office 365 will not ask you to type anything).
